JOHN LOWELL MARSHALL, Sr. (AKA John L.) 95, Indian Head, MD

On Sunday, March 17, 2013, John L. Marshall, Sr. peacefully transitioned into eternal life at his residence. Devoted father of John L. Marshall, Jr. (Deceased), Larry B. Marshall (Emmagene), Linda K. Marshall-Paxton (Dwayne), Bridgette Richardson (Bobby); and a daughter in law, Aurelia Marshall, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews to include a devoted niece, A. Diane Freeland along with many other relatives and friends. Born on March 18, 1917 in Pomonkey, MD to the late James Genessee and Maud Elizabeth Blair Marshall. He was the 7th child born.

He is survived by one adopted brother, Joseph Chase (Nellie).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Margaret Ann Branson Marshall, his eldest son, John L. Marshall, Jr. and siblings; Vivian, Mack, Bertram, Bernice, Quinton, Alice, Jerome, Faith, Joseph, Ellen and Alma.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 25, 6pm until 9pm, prayers 7:30pm in the Chapel of THORNTON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland. Home going services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 26th at From the Heart Church Ministries, 4949 Allentown Road, Suitland, Maryland 20746.

Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Charles County, Inc.
