John Edmond Jennings III

"PJ"

John Edmond Jennings III, lovingly known as "PJ" was born April 17, 1984 to John and Shirley Jennings.

He was educated in both the Prince Georges and Charles County Public School systems.  In 2004, he graduated from Thomas Stone High School.  PJ was the baby of the house and he was definitely a "Mommas Boy".  It was never a dull moment in the Jennings house, especially when PJ was home.  There was always an adventure going on or an incident to talk about.  Like the time PJ drove the car into the neighbor's front yard.

PJ had a big heart; he absolutely loved his family.  He loved to talk.  He would talk your head off and was a natural comedian.  Due to his witty personality, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met, even if they had only met him one time.  He was a very sociable person, from the telephone to Facebook.

From the time he was a little boy, PJ had a love for cars.  He would sit for hours lining up all his matchbox cars and he knew how many he had and if any were missing.  He went from Match Box Cars to Pro Mod Cars.  He was an expert when it came to assembling a vehicle from the inside out.  He even knew all the steps from building the motor to what would make the paint shine.

PJ was the son of a "Real Life Superman"…. His Dad!  Those two were the modern day "Sanford & Son".  As much as they loved each other, they fussed just the same.  They had so much in common, like hitting the streets looking for junk they could cash in.  There is nothing like a father and son bond.  Pete and PJ would spend days together preparing the mustang for the next big car show.  During this time, they would try different restaurants, talk about the old times, and spend quality time together.

The brother and sister bond that Marisha, Shonte and PJ shared was like no other.  Their parents instilled in them from an early age to love and support each other no matter what.

He thought the world of his two big sisters and there was nothing in the world he wouldn't do for them.  PJ wore many hats; their personal handyman, their personal comedian, a buddy to hang out with or him just being around for company.  Because of his willing spirit to look out for and the love he had for his sisters; he was only a phone call away.  In return, both Marisha and Shonte, though hard at times, poured a lot of love, wisdom, and knowledge into their baby brother to make sure he did everything he was supposed to do to be the best he could be.

One thing PJ knew for sure was that, no matter what, when the rubber met the road, his big sisters, Marisha and Shonte were there to support him, every step of the way.  Likewise, Marisha and Shonte knew, on their worst days they could always count on PJ to get a laugh.

Although a jokester and comedian, in December 2017, PJ made a conscious and serious decision and he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and there was no prouder day than the day he was baptized.  PJ loved his family and his friends; whom most of them he considered brothers.  He looked forward to every family event.  He loved to listen to old school Quartet Gospel and country music….he learned that from Cousin Sharon.  PJ held dear to his heart, his foster brothers Chris and Jarold, Big Cousins Lisa and P-Nut, his Aunt Miama and his main partner in crime, Shannon.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, John Edmond Jennings III, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully from this life's journey to his heavenly home.

John was preceded in death by his Mother, Shirley A. Jennings; Grandmother, Mary Jupiter; Grandfathers, Mitchell Marshall, Virgil Tinnen and John E. Jennings, Sr..

PJ leaves to celebrate and cherish his memory, his Father, John Edmond "Pete" Jennings II; three sisters, Marisha Jennings, Shonte Jennings, and Crystal Carter; two brothers, Jarold Lyles and Christopher Williams; Grandparents, Betty Tinnen-Moore (Julius); a loving companion; a faithful and caring family friend and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Per the Executive Order from Governor Larry Hogan with "full force of law" and "enforcement of the law", the Services for "PJ" are Private.
