Obituary of John Henry Janifer, Age 45 of Nanjemoy, Maryland.
John Henry Janifer, more affectionately called "Booty" departed this life and entered into eternal peace on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at his home in Nanjemoy, Maryland.
He was born April 3, 1970 to Christine E. Janifer and the late Phillip F. Posey in Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised by his grandparents, who he loved very much, James and Ruby Janifer. He was educated in the Charles County Public School System and graduated from Lackey High School in Marbury, Maryland.
John committed his life to Christ at an early age, at Mount Hope Baptist Church, where he served on the choir for many years. He worked as a truck driver for AC Whisco World Wide Movers and for many years as a laborer with the "Rainbow Moving Company".
On February 26, 2013, he married his high school sweetheart, Debbie A. Harvey.
He loved teaching young children karate and his favorite student was his nephew, Joshua, whom he called (Shoma, Shoma). In addition to teaching karate, John also enjoyed playing cards, yard sales, thrift stores, being around family, helping others with whatever he could and giving words of wisdom. He also was a devoted Redskins fan.
In spite of the difficulties of life, John always had a smile. He was a very playful and hardworking man. He was very proud of the bond he had with his children. His grandfather, Francis had the most influence on his life. He was most passionate about his wife Debbie, who along with his grandmother, Sis gave him the most enjoyment in life. John would want to be remembered most, for his generosity and kindness.
John had a favorite niece, Journey whom he named "Journey Momma". He loved his mother-in-law, Jane Pinkney whom he had a special bond, like Mother and Son. John also had a favorite aunt, Elaine, whom he called "His Mom".
In addition to his mother, Christine Janifer Proctor and step-father, Alfred S. Proctor, John is survived by his devoted wife, Debbie Janifer; son, De'Anthony Janifer; daughters, Itea Powell, Dominique Willett and Jasmine Janifer; step-son, Jonathan Thomas; sister, Dorothy Janifer; grandparents, James Francis and Ruby Elizabeth Janifer; mother-in-law, Jane Elizabeth Pinkney; father-in-law, Davis Harvey; two sisters-in-law, Diann Marie Parran and Roxie Geraldine Niles; seven brothers-in-law, Walter, George, David, Archie, Keith, Henry and John Harvey; three nieces, LaQuita Janifer, Tayana Janifer and Tanieka Janifer and a host of aunts, including, Janice Keys and Elaine Bowam (Robert) uncles, including, Lloyd Jenifer (Sheila), David Janifer (Mary "Dot"), Augusta Janifer, Sam Janifer, James Janifer and Charles Janifer and other relatives and friends.
