John Arthur Young was born on January 9, 1958 the 10 ^th of 12 children to Isaac & Rachel Young

John was baptized & accepted Christ at an early age @Mount Pilgrim Baptist church in Clarence, La.  John knew his soul was anchored in the Lord!

Later in life he joined the U.S. Navy in 1980 -1984 where he served on the USS Kitty Hawk and traveled extensively.  John moved to Washington, DC and begin to work for HITT Contracting.  He loved the work and helped those who worked with him learn the skills he had. John would give his shirt off his back to help; he was such a giving soul; he was a lot of fun and made you laugh at the things he said.

John was proceeded in death by his loving parents Isaac & Rachel Young, and 5 siblings Isaac Jr, Catherine, Mercy, Louis and Lois.  He leaves to cherish the memories of his life 6 Sisters:  Della Sapp(Aaron), Dorothy Josey(Joe), Doretha Young, Alice Jones(Eddie), Edie Young-Scales, NIsee Lay Jennings(Donald). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous of close friends and Bonus family Sabrina, Akia and Jamal Dupree.

Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, August 17 from 9:00am until time of service 10:00am at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment immediately following at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
