Obituary

Jerome Roger Gray "Gee Gee" of Indian Head, Maryland.

On Monday, October 17, 2022, Jerome Roger Gray, affectionately known as "Gee Gee", quietly transitioned into eternity, while at the family home in Indian Head, Maryland. He fought a courageous battle against cancer but ultimately succumbed.

Gee Gee was born August 29, 1951, to Lorenzo C. Gray and Irene V. Gray. He was the fifth of seven children.  He was married to the late Linda Queen Gray his high school sweetheart. He never had any children of his own but had an amazing relationship with his nieces and nephews, who were his absolute pride and joy.

Gee Gee was educated in the public school system of Charles County. As a child, Gee Gee attended St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, in Indian Head, Maryland and developed a deep and abiding faith with God.

After graduating from Lackey High School in June 1969, he served our grateful nation in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge on March 3, 1977, and soon after entered the workforce in the retail clothing business for Webster Men's store and Garfinckel's department store. He had a car service for private clients; and then ventured into the security field. He also worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and retired from the Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center.

Gee Gee was a quiet man, who enjoyed the simpler things in life. He loved to garden and took care of his Mom's house and yard planting beautiful flowers. He listened to all types of music, but jazz was his favorite. In his earlier years, he was a fan of the group Parliament Funkadelic and attended many concerts.  He was into photography and took pictures of his family all the time and nature, he read African American literature (especially Black history books), and had a passion for restoring old vehicles, six to be exact. Later in life he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and bicycle, watching old westerns on TV and being a care giver to his late parents and two brothers that he sincerely loved. He would be present at the hospital all the time making sure they were being taken care of properly.

Gee Gee is preceded in death by his wife, Linda, Mom and Dad, two brothers, Sonny and Benny Morris, sister-in-law, Lona.

Left to cherish his life, brothers; Louis (Hope), Tommy (Diane), sisters; Judy (Richard) and Joyce (Tony), a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, and a great great nephew, cousins, other relatives, and longtime friends.

Gee Gee will always be missed in the physical world but know that he will always be there to watch over the family and friends in the spiritual world.
