Jeffery Louis Ragland

Jeffery Louis Ragland, affectionately known as “Jeff Rags”, was born to the late Louis A. Ragland and Ann C. Ragland. He lived a life filled with purpose, resilience, and strength. He was a man who showed his love out loud not only through words, but through his actions – always present, always dependable, and always willing to give more than what was asked of him. His presence brought comfort, and his character left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

As a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin and friend, Jeffery embodied dedication and loyalty. He believed deeply in the importance of Family and Authenticity. Those values guided his life and shaped the many lives he touched along the way. If you knew him well, you’d know his love for sports, dancing, playing pool, and a good ole’ dice game. Jeffery was a scholar of the DC Public School System and, in turn, became an exceptional employee of the Prince George’s County Board of Education.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his beloved parents and brothers: Anthony Branson and Rodney Ragland. He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Jeff, Diamon, Kashira, Karneisha, and Kamari; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Andoria and Sheila (Robert); brother Gregory; Nephews; a Niece, and a host of cousins and friends.

Friends may visit with the family Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment private.
