Jeannette Clark Thurmond, 91
Bryans Road
Jeannette Clark Thurmond of Bryans Road died at Genesis Nursing Home, Waldorf June 23, 2012. She was born May 1, 1921 in Bryans Road. She was the daughter of James W. Sr. and Elnora Clark.
She attended public schools in Pomonkey where she graduated from Pomonkey High School, June 1937; she attended college in Bowie and graduated in June 1941.
She taught elementary school in Maryland until she married Lennie Thurmond in 1950 and moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1951.
After the death of her husband she returned to Bryans Road. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lennie Thurmond, sister Sophonia Gaston and brother James W. Clark, Jr.
She is survived by her sisters, Elvira Langford, Winifred Sechrest, Phelicia Boyer and Willa Mae Parker (Arnold).
Visitation will be held at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 3385 Metropolitan Church Road (Pomonkey) Friday, June 29; 10:00 a.m. and funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Church cemetery.
