Harris, Janice Marie Penny (Age 57) of Bryans Road, Maryland.

Janice Marie Penny-Harris, daughter of Joseph Oliver, Sr., and Renetta Penny was born on July 17, 1957 in Bethesda, MD. She entered into eternal rest on September 23, 2014 at 11:20 p.m.


Janice grew up in Indian Head, MD. She attended Charles County public schools, graduating from Lackey High School in 1975. After high school, Janice attended various schools and acquired many skills to include mixology and machinist. After pursuing various careers, she enlisted in the United States Army Reserves in 1982 and received an honorable discharge in 1990. She was also employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD.


Janice was united in holy matrimony with her lifelong love, Arthur T. Harris on March 9, 2001. They spent a loving and exciting 23 years together.


Janice was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved playing cards with her parents, watching America's Next Top Model and fishing.


Janice was preceded in death by her three loving brothers, Phillip, Royce and Joseph Penny, Jr.; and a niece Andrea Penny.


She leaves to cherish fond memories, her ever faithful husband, Arthur T. Harris; a loving son, Derek; her devoted daughter, Jamila; two sisters, Theresa and Jackie; four grandsons, Troye, Amir, Brendan and Zyrik; nieces Jokisha, Tammy and Devona; nephews, Jonathan, Lance and Lamar; four aunts and three uncles; and a bunch of great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and cherished.


A host of family and friends will forever miss Janice Marie.
