Janice Denise Moore, 61 of Richlands, North Carolina.

Dee Dee's Journey

Janice Denise "DeeDee" Moore, 61, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 16, 2022.  She was born in Youngstown, OH on September 8, 1960, to the late Eddie Otis Carter and Bernita Coston Carter.

She graduated in 1978 from South High School in Ohio where she enjoyed her time as a Majorette. Janice continued her education at Youngstown State University and received her B.A. in Computer Science. She later attended the ITT Technical Institute where she received multiple certifications. Janice was serious about her education and was determined to excel by avoiding distractions that would deter her from reaching her academic goals.

Janice moved to Maryland and worked at the Federal Board of Education, United States Capital Police as a recruiter, and then later worked for DC Water. With the desire to retire, in 2021, Janice and Mark moved from Waldorf, MD to settle down in Richlands, NC.  There she continued to work as an office administrator for E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency).

Janice was a long-time member of His Church in Washington, DC and Mt. Ennon Baptist Church in Clinton, MD.

Janice was a very outgoing, woman. Aside from her amazing sense of style, Janice enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed going on vacations with her family, or weekends away with her husband. Janice loved being a personal hair stylist to her daughter and enjoyed walks with her son's family. She absolutely LOVED being around her family, as she would always say, "We're family and that's all we got."  Most of all, Janice loved to spoil and spend time with her grandchildren.

Surviving Janice is her loving and faithful husband, Mark M. Moore; her 2 sons and daughter in law, Jeffrey Howell, II (Kiarie), of Orlando, FL and Jason Gregory Carter (Samantha Crytzer), of Youngstown, OH; her 3 daughters, Tashia Lynnette Carter (Kevin Mckeiver), of District Heights, MD, Destiny Moore, of Charlottesville, VA and Kierstyen Moore of Chattanooga, TN; her 4 sisters, Jackie Coston (Steve), of Columbus, OH, Terry Carter, of Youngstown, OH, Debra Carter (Fred), of St. Louis, MO, and Constance Wright, of Columbus, OH; her 14 grandchildren, Timothy Carter, Jaxson Howell, Awndreya Hosey, Marquis Jarrell, RoBerto Soto, Kiara Tarver, Romero Davis, Denicholas and Tesla Crytzer, Veda and Vela Carter, Ariel, Ari'anna and Alyssa Morar, and many more beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, family, and one of her best friends, Deborah Padgett.

Janice loved fiercely and deeply.  Her zest for life and infectious smile will always be remembered.  Knowing that she is with Jesus, gives comfort to those who are mourning. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her and will remain in our hearts forever.
