James Nathaniel Wills, 80 of La Plata, Maryland.
James Nathaniel Wills "Sonny" was born January 10, 1938 in Faulkner, Maryland. He departed this life Friday, December 28, 2018.
James was born to Earlean Bertha Wills and William Francis Wills who preceded him in death.
James married June Elizabeth Prout on September 5, 1964 and from this union two children were born, Brenda Louise Wills and Timothy Francis Wills.
James was drafted into the Army in 1961 and honorably discharged in 1963. He worked many years for the C & P Telephone Company now Verizon. He was the first African American to work as a lineman for C & P Telephone in Charles County.
He loved vintage cars, drag racing, fishing and Doo-wop music. He also liked to watch old time western movies and TV shows, but most of all he loved to laugh and to tease family and friends.
James is survived by his loving wife, June E. Wills and his children, Brenda Wills and Timothy Wills. He is also survived by his sister, Bertha Lee, nieces, Gail Lee and Melissa Lee and great nephews, Cedric Lee and Brandon Lee and a host of family and friends.
