James "Jim or Man" Simmons was called home on May 13, 2022 at the age of 64.

James was born to James L. Simmons and Violet B. Simmons on May 23, 1957 in Washington, DC.

He was a good son, a loving brother, a wonderful wonderful father, a reliable and good friend to many.  He was also a hardworking and proud Army veteran and Minnesota Viking fan. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He will always be remembered for his pleasant smile, kindness, and jovial personality.

James was a father to five beautiful children, one of the original girl dads.  He is survived by his loving mother Violet Simmons, his sister Inga Fewell with whom he spoke daily, his son Marcus, and pride of his life – daughters Michelle, Mandy, Alexis, and Kaylynn. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kahleal, Jayden, Miles, Malia, and Brooklyn. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Simmons and daughter Dominique Ruggieri.

Although he's far away from us, he will remain in our hearts forever.
