James "Mike" Lawrence Onque, (Age 63) of Montgomery Village, Maryland.
On Sunday, August 19, 2018, James Lawrence Onque of Montgomery Village, Maryland, beloved and adored husband of Claudia Gray-Onque, beloved father of sons, James Onque, Jr. (Nachelsea) of Laurel, Maryland and Jerell Onque of Laurel, Maryland; daughters, Charlese Jones of Englewood, California, Jazmine Onque (Kashif) of Laurel, Maryland, Crystal Jones of Conshocken, Pennsylvania, Charlay Jones of Montgomery Village, Maryland and Krystal Boone of Suitland, Maryland; also cherished grandchildren, Azariah Lawrence, Isaiah Lawrence, Joshua Onque, Todd Wheeler, Jr., Jayla Onque, Ariannah Onque, Zora Ford, Maximus Ford, and Logan Ford; mother, Judith A. Payne of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, dear friend Terry Thompson, bonus son, Matthew Ford and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was fondly called by his nick name "Mike" and business name "Jimmy the Hot Dog Man." He graduated from East Orange High School, in East Orange, New Jersey and entered the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated soldier in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era; he was a trained Police and Detective for the K-9 Unit at Fort Meyers Military Base. After military duty, he had various careers and retired from trucking in 2007. After retirement from trucking, he started his New York Style Hot Dog Cart business fondly named "Jimmy the Hot Dog Man." He truly enjoyed serving his signature hot dogs, half smoke sausages and special toppings at various events. He had a great passion for living life to the fullest and making every moment with others memorable. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife, family and friends; he shared God's love in word and deed with others. He lived life to the fullest and shared his passion for life with the world. His hobbies included riding his motorcycle, DC Hand Dancing, and cruising on various cruise ships with family and friends.
A Memorial Service with Visitation starts at 10:30 am until 11:00 am. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, 3600 Brightseat Road, Landover, Maryland 20785.
