IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Buster
Cornelius Warren
February 2, 1961 – March 30, 2021
James Cornelius "Buster" Warren, age 60, of Welcome, Maryland
James Cornelius "Buster" Warren suddenly and unexpectedly departed this life on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in Welcome, Maryland. Buster was born on February 2, 1961, at Freedmen's Hospital, Washington D.C., to Ida Marie Jackson Warren and the late James "Big Boy" Warren, Jr. He was the eldest of three children.
Buster received his education through the Charles County public school system. At an early age, he was baptized at Zion Baptist Church in Welcome, Maryland. Buster sang with Zion's Junior Choir and "The Inspirational Singers" gospel group that ministered in song throughout the D.C. Metropolitan Area. He worked for Dean Lumber Company, St. Mary's County, Maryland, Brinkley House Apartments, Oxon Hill, Maryland, and Welsey Concrete Company, Nanjemoy, Maryland. Buster was a loving son as well as a deeply committed caretaker of his mother for over ten years. According to his mother, he could do no wrong and everything had to be just right.
Buster enjoyed surrounding himself with family and friends to cook and play card games; Bid Whist, Pitch, and Spades were among his favorites. He was an enthusiastic and avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Buster was passionate about planting flowers, cleaning his cars – keeping them clean was a must – watching TV westerns, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful.
The Lord blessed Buster with a big heart – ready and willing at a moment's notice to help lend a hand in taking care of his family and friends. He loved people and would take what little he had to give to those in need, no matter what that need was. Most will remember his ever-present smile and on-going conversations.
In addition to his father, James "Big Boy" Warren, Jr., Buster is preceded in death by an aunt, Jean E. Jackson and three uncles, Richard Warren, Roger Warren, Sr., and Robert A. "Mr. Bo Bo" Jackson, also, by His grandparents, James A. Warren, Sr. and Louise Warren and Robert T. Jackson and Bernice Jackson.
Buster will be missed every day by his mother, Ida Marie Warren; brother, Ronald "Ronnie" (Wanda); sister, Melissa "Nissy;" and three cousins raised like siblings with him, Patricia Warren-Hill; Lisha Hawkins (Bryan); and William "Bootsy" Warren (Sandra), four nieces, Tameca (Andre), Brittney, Shelby and Rhonda, two nephews, Terrence and Ryan, two great-nieces, Andrea and Taryn, one great-nephew, Isiah, eight aunts, LaVerne A.
