Jordan, Beale Jacqueline (Age 58) of Bryans Road, Maryland.
Jacqueline Beale-Jordan was born on April 15, 1955 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Joseph Beale, Sr. and Erma Beale. As the oldest daughter, she was affectionately known as "Sister" to her family members.
She was called home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2013 in Bryans Road, Maryland. She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Beale, Sr. and her brother Calvin Beale.
Jacqueline attended Kellam High School in Virginia Beach. She then received her associate and bachelor degrees from Saint Leo University. In 1982, she joined the United States Army where she served for 20 years. During her early years in service, she became a member of the Eastern Star. In 1983, she gave birth to her only child, Ja'Mein "Dee" Sanchez. Following her retirement from the military in 2002, she worked briefly at the University of San Francisco and then in Virginia Beach as a substitute teacher. She then returned to the federal government in 2005 to work for the Department of Defense.
Jacqueline was joined in holy matrimony on July 25, 2005 to Kelvin Jordan. Shortly after their marriage, she joined Metropolitan United Methodist Church where she served as president of the usher board, a Certified Lay Servant and pulpit staff member, sang in the A.C. Kane and Combined choirs, and participated in play productions. She took great pride in her work with the church and most recently served as the lay leader. Those who knew her are humored by the fact that she ran the usher board much like a drill sergeant, always making sure things were in order.
She was an instructor and also served on the trustee board of the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association (ICUA), which she loved and took great joy in doing.
Jacqueline was a funny, kind person who often put up a stern façade of a soldier. But underneath, she was a giving and loving person who would do anything to help those in need. She was a great cook and loved to shop, often receiving packages from QVC and the Home Shopping Network. She also had an affection for decorating, often redecorating her house every few months just to have something different.
She enjoyed watching her favorite soap opera "The Young & the Restless" as well as westerns and the Sci-fi channel. She also took great care in spoiling the family dog Zeke who she often referred to as "'The Boo." Another favorite pastime included traveling, often taking cruises with Kelvin and simply just "hitting the road."
Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memories her husband Kelvin Jordan, daughter Ja'Mein "Dee" Sanchez, son-in-law Scott Sanchez; mother Erma Beale; brothers Joseph Beale Jr. and Donald Beale; sisters Brenda Stewart, Juanita Reid and Phyllis Beale; good friends Clyde and Denise Bryant, and Rob and Diane Thomas; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
