IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline Carlan
Harvey-Woodson
June 20, 2017
Jacqueline (Jackie) Carlann Harvey-Woodson , an angel of God, was the only child of the late Pattie E. Anderson and Carl Johnson. Jackie was born and raised in Washington, DC and was a proud graduate of McKinley Tech Senior High School. She further continued her education at the real H.U., Howard University and majored in Psychology. She later married the late Robert Baskin and to that union was born her only child and cherished daughter Shelly. After the birth of her first grandson Justin, he affectionately named her JacJac, which became her new nick name. About ten years ago, Jackie met her true love and soul mate Tony Woodson. Jackie and Tony got married on October 24, 2014.
Jackie began her career with the Federal Government at The Library of Congress. After many years of working in the government, Jackie decided to retire from the government and start her own businesses. She opened her first successful liquor store business called J&S Liquors, which stood for Jackie and Shelly Liquors. During that time she also owned a carry out and Odyssey School of Driving. Several years later she decided to close down her businesses and go into mortgage banking. She worked as a loan officer, branch manager, associate district manager and Vice President for the largest lending institutions in the country. She received a National President's Club, Community Reinvestment Act awards and other awards and recognition for her performance. Her managers would call her "The Loan Machine" because she had such high volume of loan production. After leaving the forward side of mortgages she went into working as a HECM Loan Officer to help senior citizens to save their homes and help them have a better financial quality of life.
Jackie enjoyed and loved her family more than anything next to God. She enjoyed life and lived life to the fullest. She was a social butterfly and always enjoyed partying, traveling, shopping and driving her fancy cars. She believed in always having the best that she could have AND being the best that she could be in anything that she did. She was friendly with everyone she came in contact with. She would always see good in everyone, no matter what they may have done. She always welcomed everyone with her wonderful smile and with open arms. She was a devoted and loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend to many people.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband Tony Woodson, her daughter Shelly Belton-Gorham, Son In Law, Ronnell Gorham, two grandsons, Justin and Jarrett Belton, one great-granddaughter, Carlaizha Cardoza and a host of close relatives and friends.
