Ivy Isabell Harris, 66, of Fort Washington, Maryland.

Obituary

Ivy Isabell Harris was born April 11, 1956 in Fort Myers, FL to Doris Johnson and the late Maxie Harris. Ivy entered the eternal peace on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

She was educated in Prince George's County Public schools and graduated from Friendly High School in 1974.

After graduating, Ivy held various positions in public services before successfully gaining employment with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 1991. She dedicated 27 years of service until her retirement in 2018.

Some of Ivy's favorite past times include traveling, cooking, hosting events, and watching movies. But spending time with her family and friends is the one that she enjoyed the most.

While we all knew and loved Ivy, what we will cherish and remember most was her never-ending generosity and laughing at her quick-witted comebacks---she would even have to laugh at herself most of the time. She was "Aunt Ivy" to her nieces & nephews and affectionately known as "Hubba" to countless family & friends. Ivy will be truly missed by everyone.

Ivy was preceded in death by her father Maxie Harris, step-father Harold Dyson, grandmother Isabella Johnson, uncles Larry & Preston Johnson, and brother Ellis Dyson, Sr.

Left to cherish her memories: her mother Doris Dyson; brother Maxie Harris; sister Nadine Dyson, nieces & nephews LaTasha, LaKia, Ellis Jr., Eric Dyson,& Anton Queen; great-niece & nephews: DeSean Bennett, Ja'Sai Harley, & Taylor Washington; Godchildren: D'Mari Howell & Jace Toles; Devoted relatives & friends: Barbara, Ricky, Kandy, Angela, Jeanetta, Renee, Ponjola, Denise, Cindy, Dana, Keesha and LaToya; along with of a host of many other relatives and friends.

Viewing, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2022, until time of Service, 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, 13472 Poplar Hill Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
