Semple, Inez Wells (Age 85) of Washington, D.C.
As faithfully as the Lord gave life to Inez Wells Semple on February 9, 1927, He just as faithfully sent his angels of mercy to call her home to eternal rest on February 27, 2012. She answered God's call in the comfort of her home.
Inez was one of four children born to the late Stoney Wells and Mary Harris Wells of Charles County, Maryland. She left her humble beginnings to leave her mark on the world in Washington, DC where she never lost sight of the important issues in life, the love of God and the love of her family. She was a kind-hearted individual with a mind to help others when ever and however she could; no task was too great or too small for her. Her desire to serve others was evident in the 23 years she labored in the Environmental Services Department of S.C. Herman & Associates, where her absence will undoubtedly leave a void that will be hard to fill. She loved to go on trips with friends and send gifts to loved ones on special occasions as a reflection of her love for them.
In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her three sisters, Julia Wells, Anna Teaner, and Nellie Wells. Although she never had an opportunity to raise children of her own, she shared her motherly instinct by helping to care for her godson, Carl Butler.
She leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends to include a very special cousin, James J. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Phyllis Johnson.
