Henry Turner Hampton, III (Age 59) of Temple Hills, Maryland

Henry, known by his nickname as "Pint," departed this life on the night of March 16, 2021 due to health related issues.

He was born to Henry (deceased) and Joan Hampton in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Potomac High School in June 1981.  As a boy growing up he played hard. All he ever wanted was to wrestle or go outside and play – and wrestle more.  He actually suffered a broken ankle from wrestling.  From childhood to adulthood he had a knack of  making friends.  His personality was such that he could develop a rapport with the highest level professional or the random person on the street.  It didn't matter who you were.  If he liked you, he cared about you.  If you called on him for help he did his best to help you. He loved his family, especially his daughter, Erica and his grandson, Karter.

Most recently, he was devoted to helping his mother as she was receiving treatment for her health.  He was doing all he could to help get her to and from the doctor and making sure she had what she needed.  He served her coffee and breakfast in bed every morning like clock work.  He wasn't always understood and maybe not always liked. But if you knew and understood him, you knew this for sure: he was a good guy with a good heart. He held various jobs through the years.  At the time of the pandemic shutdown, he was employed by Branchwood Towers in Clinton, MD.

He is preceded in glory by his dad, Henry.

Those he left behind: daughter, Erica McCoy Hampton, grandson, Karter Lee, mother, Joan Hampton, sister, Linda Smith (Wylie), niece, Nichole Bennett, nephew, Larry Brown and Tyler Smith, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

His Viewing will be, 10:00 am, until time of Service, 12:00 pm, Monday, March 29, 2021 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.  Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, 13472 Poplar Hill Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
