Helene Elaine (Estep) Brawner (Age 79) of Pomfret, Maryland.

Helene "Elaine" Brawner was born on May 9, 1941 in White Plains, Maryland to the late George and Glydon Estep. At the age of 79, she transitioned to eternal life on March 10, 2021 in Laurel, Maryland.

She dated the late Louis Brawner for ten years before uniting in holy matrimony in 1963.  Through their union of 47 years, they had ten wonderful children.

Elaine was a very strong willed, kind hearted, and independent person.  She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Elaine was a homemaker all her life and was the babysitter to some of the children in the neighborhood. Her house was always the "go to" house to have "cookouts."  The children played many outside games while the grown folks played cards. She was also known for her delicious bread pudding, rice pudding, cakes, potato salad, macaroni salad and deviled eggs.

Elaine loved watching In The Heat of The Night, Hallmark Channel, Game Shows, Disney, movies and playing her numbers. Back in the day, she loved going to BINGO with her sisters, Cookie and Linda.

In addition to her parents, George and Glydon, and grandparents, James and Viola Marshall, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis,  sisters, Ann Marie, Sharon and Linda Estep, brothers-in-law, Byron Andrews and William Makle, nephews, Rydell Hawkins, Darnell Estep and Aaron Toye, niece, LaTasha Estep and grandson, Corey Dyson.

Left to cherish many fond memories, children; Tara (Artis), Dean (Diane), Dana, John (Cindy), Lynda (Butch), Denitra (Gary), Dashell (Stephen), Derick (Vickee), Louis (Kita), Jason, Mashawn (Jerome) favorite niece/daughter, grandchildren;  Devon, Brandy, Brandon, Kathy, Briana, Cameron, Jasmine, Ava, Damontae, Julius, Airiana, Laylana and Ashton, great grands; Faith, Kai, Kenisha, Karlie, Karlos, Tre, Charlie and Johan, sisters; Ellen Hawkins, Sheila Estep-Andrews, Marilyn"Cookie"Makle, Jackie Estep and Cindy Cole, brothers; George "Sam" Estep, (Cheryl), Edwin "Mutt" Estep (Diane), Jerome "Jerry" Estep and Earl Estep (Edna), sister-in-law, Ida Makle, brother-in-law, Henry Brawner (Mary) and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends.

Her Viewing will be, 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
