Hattie Marie Wilson, 76, of Nanjemoy, Maryland
Hattie Marie Wilson, affectionately known as "Hattie Ree" transitioned to Glory on Thursday, April 14, 2022 in Fairfax Va. Hattie was born April 4, 1946 in Charles County, MD to William Bernard and Gertrude Washington.
Hattie stayed steadfast on her walk with the Lord and was baptized at a young age at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Hattie was educated in the Charles County School system. After graduating from Pomonkey High School in 1965, Hattie begin her career at the US Bureau &
Engraving in Washington DC and later relocated to Texas where she worked for 30 plus years until her retirement. Hattie was very fashionable and enjoyed shopping, traveling, and cooking, she also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Her greatest accomplishment was raising her kids. Hattie was a very generous person "she would take the shirt off her back if someone needed it".
Hattie will be missed by all those she left behind. She was beautiful, classy and one of a kind. To be loved by her was truly a blessing
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and William Bernard Washington, Loving Husband, John Wesley , beloved son Johnny , and siblings Carrie Thomas, James Washington, Richard Washington and Walter Washington Sr.
Hattie leaves to cherish her memories, childeren Dawn Marie Wilson and Fiero Washington special nieces Keosha, Amira and Carahji Washington,
brothers Dennis Washington Sr. (Jane), John Washington Sr. (Brenda decd.), Theodore Washington (Kathy), Chester Washington, Robert Washington Sr., sisters, Cecelia Minor (Ernest decd.) Violet Brown (Roy decd.) brother-in-law Richard Wilson, 2 Sister-in-Law, Estelle Cobey and Rosie Cobey, grandchildren, Darrayl Wison Sr., Eric Washington, Andrew Coates, Emberly Coates and great-grandchildren Skylah and Darrayl Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends to cherish her memory.
Viewing, 5:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Viewing, 12:00 p.m., until time of Service, 12:30 pm, Saturday, April 23, 2022, Israel Total Life Ministries, 64 Industrial Park Drive, Waldorf, Maryland 20602. Interment, Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 11220 Holly Springs Road, Nanjemoy, Maryland 20662.
