Obituary

Hattie Theresa (Clark) Green, 92 of Newburg, Maryland.

Hattie Theresa (Clark) Green was born, November 28, 1924 in Shiloh, Maryland to the late Agnes Templemen Clark and Emmanuel Clark. She departed this life, April 12, 2017 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

At an early age, Hattie professed her faith in Christ and became a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Issue, Maryland. She was educated in the Charles County School System.

At an early age she was united in marriage to the late James Aloyious Green to whom she remained faithful until his death in 1980. Hattie had a passion for her family whom she loved dearly. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker.

Hattie enjoyed spending time with and preparing meals for family and friends. Everyone looked forward to attending celebratory events with Hattie as she was the life of the party and would spend the majority of time on the dance floor. Her favorite pastimes were, cooking, eating out with her family, dancing, being outside walking on a sunny day, talking on the phone with her children and neighborhood friends.

When her children came home, they always knew where to find Mother in the house, they just followed the sound of the running water. Mother loved the feeling of water touching her hands.

In addition to her parents and husband, her daughter, Sharon Green, grandson, Ernest A. Green and siblings, Virgie Clark-Turner, James Clark, Blanche Clark-Davie and O'Dean DeBerry preceded her in death.

To cherish her memories, she leaves to mourn four sons, John A. Green (Shirley) of Raleigh, NC, James K. Green (Ann) of Waldorf, MD, Jerry A. Green and Phillip J. Green both of Thompkinsville, MD; four daughters, Linda C. Taylor (Anthony) of Beltsville, MD, Janet Adams (Ronald) of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Margaret Washington (Barkley) of Pomfret, MD and Joan Marie Ford (Johnny) of Lanham, MD; one sister, Hilda Clark of Jamaica, New York; one sister-in-law, Catherine A.
