Gwenda Bradford, 61, of Accokeek, Maryland
Gwenda Ella Bradford was born Friday, April 7, 1961 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Dorothy Benson and Peter Vinson Sr. Her mother described her as a sweet child who never gave her any trouble. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in May 1979, where she excelled as a student. Shortly following graduation, Gwen migrated to Bensalem, Pennsylvania to live with her sister Gloria Carter, seeking new economic opportunities. Soon after her migration to Bensalem, PA, Gwen met Arthur Bradford. Gwen and Arthur Bradford were united in holy matrimony on November 1, 1981. Their union brought forth four children.
On April 15, 1991, Gwen began employment as a Program Specialist in the Coast Guard branch of the United States Government. Gwenda received the 2019 Civilian Commendation Award.
Gwen also served faithfully as a member of the District Heights Church of Christ becoming a member in 2001. Where she devoted her time, deepening her faith in fellowship and worship. Her favorite hymn was Heaven's on the Other Side. Gwen also loved lavishly entertaining loved ones at her home, traveling, and hosting Bible studies in to enlarge the LORD'S kingdom. As a woman who valued family, Gwen sought to organize a large family reunion in 2019 in her hometown of Hot Springs, Arkansas, where over 100 family members came together to celebrate life! This reunion was a big accomplishment, as her mother Dorothy Benson was an only child, and this event displayed the long lineage of legacy she produced.
