Gregory Thomas Lancaster, Sr., 61, of Bryans Road, Maryland.
Gregory Thomas Lancaster, Sr of Bryans Road, Maryland the second of three children, was born on February 21, 1962 in Washington, D.C. to the Rev. Frederick Lancaster (deceased) and Marjorie T. Greg was baptized at an early age at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Avra Jones.
Greg was educated in the Charles County Public School System graduating from Henry E. Lackey High School in 1980. He joined the Military in 1980 graduating from Boot Camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky and later went on to Germany where he was discharged in 1984. In 1981 he was united in marriage to Myra Gray and through this union there were six (6) children born. His employment consisted of working with Cambridge Homes in Waldorf, Maryland. He took the carpentry skills he learned while in Vocational Training and started his own home improvement business named M&ZAG Construction. He was very knowledgeable and crafted with that he was employed throughout Metro D.C. and local areas. His last employment was with Great Cheese, Inc. out of Baltimore, Maryland.
Greg loved the outdoors. His past time hobbies included the following: racing at the Maryland International Speedway and Capital Raceway, rebuilding cars, fishing with his buddies, bowling, hunting, exercising, bike riding and was considered to be a "Master Chess Player". He enjoyed cooking out at the family reunions and would always be assisting at cookouts. He was an avid Commanders (Redskins) fan who loved watching football games.
Greg encountered life challenges and he never gave up that "hope" to overcome. He was always smiling and gave that "good word" to whomever he was in conversation with as he was never lost for words. When his health began to fail, he never complained. He lived his life as if it was his last. He loved, cared and kept a watchful eye on his mother after the death of his father.
