DYSON, GLADYS CECELIA (AGE 75) OF BRYANS ROAD, MARYLAND
On Monday, July 4, 2016 at the Genesis LaPlata Center in LaPlata, Maryland, Gladys C. Dyson of Bryans Road, Maryland quietly entered eternal rest.
Gladys Cecelia Dyson was born May 4, 1941 in Pomonkey, Maryland to the late Jeremiah Nathaniel and Emma Cecelia Key.
Gladys met Walter Herbert Dyson, Sr. in Bryans Road, Maryland and they married. Together they became a family including Walter's two sons and three daughters. She was employed as a Food Service Worker by the Charles County Board of Education.
Gladys loved and cared about the welfare of her family. She was always concerned about the welfare of others and was known for her affectionate spirit. She was a strong willed individual who was diligent in everything she did. She loved to cook and her meals were delicious. Gladys also loved shopping, gardening, reading, listening to oldies but goodies and rhythm and blues. Her favorite TV shows were Law and Order and Family Feud. The person who influenced her most was her sister Alberta Key. Gladys had a strong faith in God.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, James Yates and sisters, Mary R. Bland and Matilda Hensley.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons; Walter H. Dyson, Jr. (Holly) and Jeffery A. Dyson (Sung), daughters; Esther O. Dyson (special friend Wayne), Towanda Dyson-Beverly (Joseph) and Hilda A. Swann (Candy-Francis), grandchildren; Lakeisha M.T. Webster (Shannon), Walter H. Dyson III, Tiffany S. Waters, Bianca D. Beverly, Daryl Dyson and J. DeQuane Beverly, great-grandchildren; S. Gia Webster, Keisaan M. Webster, Trevon O. Dyson, Amiyah S. Dyson, Jace D. Dyson, Justin A. Waters, Jr., Julyssa A. Waters, Sh'Niyah Dyson and Myah I. Dyson, sisters; Alberta L. Key, Roberta E. Key and Alfreda D. Key-Wilson, brother-in-law, Edward Wilson, sister-in-law, Dorothy Yates, nieces: Shirley Ann Hyman, Patricia Yates, Deborah Ann Whitehurst, nephews: Charles Bland, James Yates, Jr., Gonza Yates, Calvin Yates, Joseph Yates, Curtis Yates, Jeffery Yates, Theodore Yates, Charles Key, Elroy Hyman, and Terrance Wilson.
Her viewing will be held from 10am until time of service 11am on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 3385 Metropolitan Church Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment Church Cemetery.
