Gerald L. Sampson of Beltsville, MD transitioned on February 1, 2022.

Mr. Gerald Leroy Sampson, son of late Maxine Sampson, was born on September 20, 1961, in Fayetteville, NC.  On February 1, 2022, he quietly entered eternal rest to dwell with those gone before him.

Gerald attended Cumberland County Public School and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1980.  He started his career in Maryland at Ramada Inn at Old Towne Alexandria, VA.  He served as a Cook for many five star hotels for over thirty-five years.  Gerald was last employed as the Lead Cook at the Gaylord Hotel.

On November 17, 1984, he met the love of his life Annie Joyce Bell.  They married on January 18, 1993, in Beltsville, Maryland.

Gerald accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in January 2010. He was an active member of Fort Foote Baptist Church.  He served as a member of the Chancel Choir, the annual 100 Men's Choir,

and on the hospitality committee.

Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, February 8 from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment to immediately follow at Heritage Memorial Park, Waldorf, MD.
