Obituary

Gerald Alan Lee, 66 of Evans, Georgia.

Gerald Alan Lee departed this life peacefully on July 6, 2019 at his beloved Lee Ranch in Social Circle, Georgia. He was born on May 25th, 1953 in Washington D.C. to the late James Edward Lee and Elfrieda Mabel Lee. He is predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Rubia L. Moore and Cheryl Ellen Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gilmore-Lee, two sons, Sean Alan Lee (Kelly) of Murphy, TX and Jeremy Alan Lee of Rockville, MD; two grandchildren, Connor Alan Lee and Addison Elizabeth Lee; one sister, Darlia McPherson, one living aunt- Dorothy Atlee; father-in-law, one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a dear friend, Mr. Donald Nickens.

Gerald was educated in the Washington DC school system. He received a Bachelors Degree from the District of Columbia Teachers College and post graduate courses at the University of Texas, El Paso and Mercer University.  Upon the completion of his Bachelor's Degree, Gerald received a Direct Commission as an Army Medical Service Corps Officer and served honorably from 1975-1979. Once honorably discharged he continued federal employment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC and William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso TX. After federal employment, he obtained a Georgia Real Estate license and enjoyed a very successful career in Real Estate for several years.

Gerald and Nancy were married in September 1989 and would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this year. He considered the birth of his sons to be his greatest accomplishment and thoroughly enjoyed raising them to be successful young men. He adored them, their families and his grandchildren. Gerald had a wonderful sense of humor, a loving spirit, and was a great story teller. He read his Bible daily and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
