Ransome, George Oakley Jr. (Age 77) of Indian Head , Maryland.

Beloved Husband of Emma Ransome and devoted father of twelve children, George peacefully transitioned to eternal life on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland.

George was born on August 21, 1935 in Washington, DC. He was one of eleven children born to the late George and the late Madeline Ransome.

George and Emma were married for sixty-one years. This was a true testamony to their love and devotion to one another. From their union twelve children were born; George, Dorothy (Deceased), Gloria, Kenneth, Betty, Brenda, Shirley, Carolyn, Donna, Mary, Paul and Michael.

In addition to his children, there are many daughters and sons-in-law, along with a host of grand and great grandchildren.

George was affectionately known as Junior, Chip, Fat Boy, Dad or Grandpa, but, whatever the name, he was greatly loved.

George was a hard working dedicated truckdriver who enjoyed gardening and fishing on his boat, "Stagerly." "Little Southern Shaker" was his favorite race car.

Above all else, George loved spending time with his family and friends.

Interment, St. Matthews United Methodist Church Cemetery, Newtown, Maryland.
