George Louis Ford. Buster departed this life on Thursday May 4, 2023; he was peacefully called to eternal rest while at Compassionate Care Assisted Living, White Plains, Maryland.

He was born in Charles County, MD to the late George Louis and Myrtle (Duckett) Ford on July 5, 1948.

Buster was educated in Charles County Public Schools System. He retired from the United States Postal Service (Mail Equipment Shop) as a Machine Operator.

Buster married his first love; Shirley McCant in June 1979 and from this union 1 son Michael Ford was born. He was remarried October 1997 to Carolyn Pollard until February 2014.

Buster was a fun loving son, brother, uncle and friend who enjoyed life to the fullest. He is preceded in death by his parents: George and Myrtle Ford; son Michael Ford; sisters: Frances Cecilia "Speedy" Thompson and Mary Catherine "Cat" Ford and brother-in-law James Freddie Thompson.

He leaves to cherish one grandson Tay'von Amir Ford; one niece: Patina "Tina" Stewart (Melvin) ; five nephews: Harold Maurice, James Tony (Shirlene), Demetrius Kendell Thompson; Jeffrey Adams and Terrence Lamont Ford; one great niece Leyla Rose; three great nephews, Devon Yates, Terrance Jr., and Xavier Ford.

Buster loved listening to music and dancing. He thought he was the badiest thing on the dance floor. He liked spending time with family & friends and playing the Maryland Lottery. He was a diehard Commander (Redskins) fan. He was a member of the Bad Boys Car Club. Loved going to car shows and watching all types of sports. He was his own politician.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, May 12th from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am in The Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment immediately following at Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
