Obituary

Garlic, George William (Age 62)of Fort Washington, MD

George William Garlic, 62, born to the late Robert Napoleon Garlic, Sr. and beloved Mary Elizabeth Garlic on May 28, 1953 quietly departed this life on March 23, 2016 at the University of Maryland Hospital. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved brother Theodore Garlic.

George was next to the youngest of eleven Garlic siblings. He attended Washington D.C public schools and worked several jobs throughout his lifetime from hotel services to occupations as a driver. Before he became ill his last driving assignment was the responsibility of transporting patients to medical facilities for scheduled treatments.

In early education George was one who could test the tests and curve the rest. Math was not a negative but positive challenge for him. He enjoyed watching sports and giving politicians his thoughts to the television screen. He loved family gatherings where he was the life of the party and eating until his belly popped. His personality was one of a kind without struggle to state what was on his mind. He was our beloved and youngest brother. However, there were times you would have thought he was appointed to be our big brother, "the protector."

George is survived by three sons, Gary (Corey), William (Sydni) and Harold, three grandchildren and one great grandchild, nine devoted brothers and sisters, Robert Garlic Jr, Gloria Easter, Carol Williams, Richard Garlic (Joanne), Sandra Brown, Jaqueline Jegels, Barbara Stafford, Bessie Jones, and Doreen Brown (Marcellus), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

HEAR MY CRY, O GOD; ATTEND UNTO MY PRAYER. FROM THE END OF THE EARTH WILL I CRY UNTO THEE, WHEN MY HEART IS OVERWHELMED: LEAD ME TO THE ROCK THAT IS HIGHER THAN I. (PS 61:1-2)

His viewing will be held from 10am until time of service llam on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Life Church, 6707 Woodyard Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20744. Interment Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
