GARCILLE (MIXON) TAYLOR (AGE 92) OF TAKOMA PARK, MD.

Garcille Taylor was born May 9, 1924 to the late Joseph and the late Beulah Mixon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She quietly and peacefully transitioned to eternal life on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at her residence in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Garcille was affectionately known as "Bobbi" by family and friends. She graduated from Shenly High School. Through friends she met and married the love of her life, Herman Taylor. They were married in 1948 and from that blessed union two sons were born, Siegfried and Ron.

After 35 years of Government Service, Garcille retired from her position as Administrative Secretary with the Agency International Development. Retirement was one of her great and enjoyable accomplishments.

Garcille had a great interest in current events and was an elder member of her church. She was a fun loving, caring, humorous, encouraging, faithful and loyal person. She had a great interest in people and would go out of her way to help others including the homeless. Her nature was nurturing. Garcille loved attending family reunions, ordering from catalogs, dancing, singing and playing cards.

In addition to her parents and husband Herman, Garcille was preceded in death by her son, Siegfried, siblings, Joe, Robert, Honey, Brady, Oprea, and Julius,. Left to cherish many precious memories her son Ron, sister, Betty Jean Gadsden (Joseph) and a host of friends and loved ones.
