Linkins, Gaile V. (Age 65) of Indian Head, Maryland

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, Gaile V. Linkins, quietly entered eternal life while at the Restore Nursing Home, Waldorf, Maryland.

Gaile Vanessa Linkins was born on May 7, 1955 to the late William and Louise Linkins. She was one of four children and was affectionately given the nickname Cookie. She departed this life on January 20, 2021 at Restore Nursing Home, Waldorf, Maryland.

Cookie received her formal education in the public school system of Charles County, Maryland. One of her greatest accomplishments was receiving her high school diploma at the age of 50. After volunteering for the Charles County Head Start Program to assist with learning and caring for her granddaughter and other children, she became employed with the program for over 20 years as a Teacher's Aide.

She was a loving, caring and happy person. During the course of her 65 years of life, she enjoyed raising her children, who made her a very proud mother. She also provided care to other friends and family members when they needed her. She loved to go to the casino, listen to R&B music and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Cookie leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Stardeck Linkins of Indian Head, MD and three sons: Lamont Linkins and Clifton Linkins of Indian Head, MD and Tyrone (Tameka) Linkins of St. Leonard, MD; grandchildren: Shawntay, Damien, Tierra, DeAndre, Bria, Julian, Rhed, Jahkai, Taleya, Terrod, Emily, Kayla, Taylor, Jayzon and Tyvon; and one great-grandchild Nazaria. She also leaves behind a brother: Leonard Linkins of Washington, DC; Aunt Fannie; Goddaughter Connie Parham; best friends: Liz, Curtis, Gertrude, Patsy and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Cookie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise Linkins and her brothers: Bryant Linkins and Joseph "Cliff" Smallwood.

Her viewing will be held from 10:00am until time of service 11:00am on Friday, January 29, 2021, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.  Interment Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, Maryland.
