Frederick Warren "Fred" Culpepper was born June 14, 1946 in Monticello Florida and raised in Miami Florida. Fred was born to Nathaniel Culpepper and Eddie Lee Parker. He was a loving and caring Husband, Father and Family man.
Fred met Trevia in Fort Washington in 1986 while attending athletic events for their sons. They married in 1998 and combined their three sons and daughter. Fred enjoyed riding horses, traveling and working the grill every holiday with his family.
Fred was a graduate of Northwestern Senior High School class of 1964 in Miami, Florida. Here, he was a member of vocational club, student council, and athletic association. Two years later Fred enlisted in the United States Marine Corp at the age of 19 while being stationed at Camp Pen California. He served a tour in Vietnam. He was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Pistol Marksman Badge, Combat Action Ribbon, Riffle Marksman Badge and Meritorious Mast. He transferred to Marine Corps Reserve. After leaving the Marine Corp, Fred served in the Secret Service under two Presidents. He received his degree in Business Administration from American University in 1973. Simultaneously, Fred began working in the private sector for Lotus and Xerox with computer software sales. In 1998 Fred began working for Homeland Security until he retired in 2014.
On Sunday, November 10, 2024, Frederick Warren Culpepper, 78, of Fort Washington, Maryland transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Fred was surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents Nathaniel Culpepper and Eddie Lee Parker as well as his brother, Darin A. Culpepper.
Fred is survived by Trevia, his wife, three sons, Jason Culpepper (Karen), Erin Culpepper (Kymberlee) and Elijah Griffin (Victoria), daughter Tonya Griffin; six grandchildren, Jasmine Fuller (Jeremiah), Krue and Kori Culpepper, Sincere, Samadhi and Adon Griffin; one great grandchild, Ava Fuller; four sisters, Evelyn M. Culpepper, Lorri D. Culpepper White (Wendell), Leatrice J. Culpepper and Desiree S. Culpepper; one brother, Nathaniel Culpepper, Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Viewing, Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 12 noon until the time of the Celebration of Life Service, 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
