She always looked forward to preparing Sunday, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, as well as, cookouts to be enjoyed by family and friends. She was an avid fan of the Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and her beloved Washington Redskins.
Dene worked nine years at the Naval Ordinance Station in Indian Head, Maryland before transferring to the U.S. Army Engineer Center at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Dewitt Army Hospital as a Procurement Clerk where she retired after twenty-one years. She was in-charge of the church's Hospitality Ministry for over 30 years. Dene also sang in three choirs and through the church, served as a volunteer with Neighbors Eager to Serve (NETS).
Although she had many hobbies, her passion was bowling. She bowled on several bowling leagues and in many tournaments, winning numerous trophies. Dene loved to host and attend card parties especially "Bid Whist" with family and friends, often from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon (Rise and Fly).
Peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at her home and surrounded by her loving family, Dene transitioned to eternal life.
