Evelyn Lorraine Gray (Age 68) of Silver Spring, Maryland.
Evelyn Lorraine Gray more affectionately known as "Piney" transitioned to eternal life.
Evelyn Lorraine Gray, affectionately known to family and friends as "Piney," was born November 23, 1946 to the late Gennieve C. Gray in LaPlata, Maryland. She was one of eight children.
Piney attended Charles County Public Schools graduating from Pomonkey High School. After high school, she began her career as a Secretary with Howard University. It was a job she truly enjoyed. Although a disability cut her career short, it didn't diminish her love of life.
Piney was married to the late Carl "Piggy" Carter. However, they were better at being friends than married. Although they divorced, from their union, a baby girl was born (Towan "Fawnie"). Later in life, Piney found a soul mate in Leon Matthew Hill and from this relationship, Leon Hill was born.
Piney loved her grandchildren and was a devoted grandmother; of all things, they made her the happiest. She enjoyed reading, especially murder/suspense novels. She also enjoyed time at the beach, picnics and family gatherings.
Quietly, on May 16, 2015, at the Shanti House in Laurel, Maryland, Evelyn L. Gray transitioned from this life to one eternal. In November 2014, Piney accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She will continue to enjoy life to the fullest in the presence of our Lord.
