Obituary

Emma Theresa Jones affectionately known as "Molly" to many was born on July 27th, 1947 in La Plata Maryland. During her earthly stay, she touched so many with unconditional love and warmth through her heart of gold. On Wednesday April 30th, 2025, she peacefully transitioned to an eternal rest.

Molly attended Charles County schools where she graduated from Bel Alton in 1965 having earned her high school diploma. She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Upper Marlboro, MD. Having used her passion to help all within her reach, Molly served as an aide to Bunny while having volunteered yearly during community cleanup. Molly was devoted to her career at Safeway from which she retired.

Molly legacy is one of love—steadfast, sincere, and enduring. She believed in the beauty of small moments, the power of compassion, and the importance of family and community. A lifelong lover of plants, music, and poetry, Molly nurtured the world around her with both her hands and her heart. She leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever and a presence that will be missed in countless ways.

Molly is preceded in death by her parents, James and Eva Short, and sisters, Denise Short and Dorothy Simms.
