Betty married the love of her life the late Wilson J. Day, on October 19, 1974. Though the two had no children together, they raised and loved many. Betty retired from the federal government working many years at the Census Bureau.
Betty loved going to Gospel concerts with her aunts and eating at some of her favorite restaurants. She went on many trips with her family and friends. Anytime someone would say "Let's go", she would be ready! Betty was a devoted Catholic and a member of the St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She attended Mass faithfully until her health begin to decline.
While telling many stories, she always had her favorite sayings "I'm going to tell you what God loves, and that's the truth!", "I am not sugar coating nothing!" and "I am not gone, sho'nuff."
