Elsie May Anderson, 89, of Brandywine, Maryland.

Elsie May (Buckner) Anderson was born August 29, 1933, in Stafford, Virginia to the Late Grace Gaines-Buckner and John Buckner. She was called home by our heavenly father to her resting place in heaven on January 5, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones.

She received her education in Stafford, Virginia.

Elsie was a devoted wife to the late Lonnie Anderson. She was a kind, patient no-nonsense mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved all her children dearly. She leaves to cherish her loving memory to her devoted children, Gail Olakunle (William), Jacqueline (late Albert Bagley, 3rd), John and Faye Anderson; grandchildren, Sharonda Harrison, Olayemi (Trixie) Olakunle, Kwanice Eubanks (Jermaine), Janelle Anderson, Kanderias Mayo, Mackenzie (MJ) Anderson and 14 great-grandchildren.

Elsie will be remembered for her loving heart, warm smile and always having her door open and lending a helping hand to anyone she cared for that was in need. She was always ready to cook you a nice warm meal when you arrived at any time of the day.  She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.  She is also survived by her siblings, Doris Hill, Franklin Buckner (Pat), Jeanette Johnson, Sarah Kendall (Keith) and sister-in-law, Amelia Anderson, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Viewing, 10:00 a.m. until time of Service, 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2023, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735.
