On Monday, September 28, 2020, Elaine Dyson Myers of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years old. Elaine received her education in the DC Public School System, and attended Federal City College. She had a passion for social work and was employed at the Charles County Social Services Department. From there she went to work at the Charles County Sheriff's Department, where she retired after twenty-three years of service. She was an outstanding member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she enjoyed being apart of the choir ministry, Sunday School, Bible study, and any ministry she could be apart of.

Before planting her foot on the ground, Elaine started her day giving honor and glory to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her strong faith was the foundation for her children, family, and loved one.

Elaine is preceded in death by her late husband Carl Myers and her son Harry Jerome Dyson. She leaves to cherish her memories, children Gwendolyn Outen (David), Joy Marcel, John Dyson (Melody), Cynthia Dyson, Robert Dyson (Deanne), and Vivian Dyson. She raised Yvonne Dyson and Ronald Collins as her own. Her children blessed her with twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her five sisters Christine Dyson, Brenda Dyson, Shirley Hawkins, Lorraine Dyson, and Joyce Keokuk. Elaine will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Her viewing will be 9am until time of service, 11am in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment to follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Bryans Road, MD.
