Obituary

Edward "Eddie" Lee Jordan of Indian Head, Maryland.

On April 14, 2025, Edward Lee Jordan (peacefully) quietly transitioned to his heavenly home to be with the Father and all those who preceded him. Edward, affectionately known as Eddie, was born on July 19, 1961, in Newark, New Jersey, to his mother, Edna Juanita Livingston, and the late Edward Lee Livingston. He was educated in the Charles County public school system, graduating from Henry E. Lackey High School. Then he furthered his studies at Charles County Community College. Eddie lived a life full of passion, laughter, and love—a man who found joy in the simple things and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

As a child, he embraced adventure as a Boy Scout, learning the values of camaraderie and perseverance that stayed with him throughout his life. In middle school, Eddie discovered his love for music, playing the clarinet before switching to the soulful sounds of the saxophone. Though his basketball dreams didn't lead him to the high school team, he never lost his love for the game, often playing pickup games at Matthew Henson Middle School with friends, always in good spirits. But Eddie true inspiration came from the open road—dreaming of becoming a tractor-trailer driver like his beloved uncle. That dream became a reality when he and his mother ran their own trucking business together. He passed that passion on to his son, who as a young boy would sit on Eddie's lap in his wheelchair, pretending to drive while Eddie made all the best truck sounds—revving engines, screeching brakes, and loud "BEEP BEEPs!" No one fueled a child's imagination like Eddie. If joy had a motor, he kept it running full speed.

Eddie had a gift for bringing smiles to people's faces, whether through his warm conversations at Papa John's Pizza, where he took orders with charm, or during lively card games of bid whist and poker. He loved the thrill of a road trip, especially to Atlantic City, where he'd often try his luck.

Food was another one of his simple pleasures—savoring crabs, crunching on potato chips, or indulging in a Whopper from Burger King. And at Thanksgiving, no meal was complete without his cranberry sauce and biscuits.

While living at Genesis, Eddie became known as the Bingo King, where his sharp wit and lucky streak made him a legend among the residents. You could always hear Eddie before you saw him—his booming voice echoing down the hall, cheering on his beloved Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Lakers with the passion of a true fan. He didn't just watch games; he lived them, turning every play into a shared moment of triumph or (good-natured) despair.

Eddie's Sunday afternoon calls brought warmth to his children's lives. With his trademark easygoing charm, he'd call Tunisha and Little Eddie to inquire, 'What are you doing?' or 'How are you doing? These simple check-ins were his method of incorporating love and care for them. Each call ended the same way: "Alright then... I'll talk to you next Sunday. No elaborate goodbyes, just a quiet promise that he'd always be there, right on time, ready to connect again.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Livingston. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Tunisha Jones (Marvin) and Edward Lee Jordan III; his cherished grandchildren, Amethyst White, Crystal-Lyn Irene Jordan, and Edward James Jordan; his devoted mother, Edna Juanita Livingston; his sisters, Elva Anette Wormley (Harrison) and Alice Enid Jordan (Milton); his brothers, Earl Stanley Livingston and Eric David Livingston; his aunts, Louise Roberta Jordan, Catherine Livingston, Diane Robinson, and Carolyn Thompson; his special friend, Judy Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives, and friends
