Edward William King "Sonny" (Age 79) of Accokeek, Maryland.

Edward William King son of the late Mary Luvenia and Earl William King was born on January 22, 1937. He was called home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2016 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center.

Preceding him in death his, son Delvon King and sister Vera M. Chase.

During his youth, Edward better known as Sonny, attended Charles County Public Schools. Sonny was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church since he was a young child, where he was baptized and accepted Christ.

Sonny was a quiet man but enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He was a die-hard sports fan and enjoyed watching his Washington Redskins from his favorite chair. He also loved baseball and during his younger years he played hard ball for the Pomonkey Giants formerly known as the Pomonkey Brown Baseball Team.

Sonny worked as Landscaper for Charles County Department of Public Works, and was also a Civil Servant with the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head Maryland. He received numerous awards and certificates for his outstanding work.

He leaves to cherish his memories…five children; Karla King-Robinson (Maurice), Andre King(Devirge), Corey King Sr. (Contessa), William King, Monica King, one daughter-in-law; Keisha King (Delvon), six grandchildren; Tynise King- Wallace, Brianna Clagett, Jessica Ford, DeQuan Proctor, Corey King Jr., and Janaire King, two great-grandchildren; Amariah and Delvon Wallace, one sister; Mary R King,
nieces; Darlene King, Doreen King, Charlene Lancaster (Robert) nephews; Larry King, Butch Chase; great nieces; Darnita (Jermone), DeNee, Stephanie and Portia, his great-nephews; J.R and Justin, two devoted mothers of the children Ruth Ann King and Jean Dyson-King. Also his devoted special friend Helena Gooseberry.

Well I must go but don't cry for long, for I am in a place where nothing will go wrong. God has richly blessed me throughout my life, now he takes me home as I've gained eternal life. Good bye for now. Don't be sad; rejoice at my passing, I have got the victory.
