Edward Charles Holsey (Age 70) of Fort Washington, Maryland.
Mr. Edward Charles "Bubbles" Holsey, Sr., son of Lily Jane Seaman-Smith and Edward Charles Reid, was born August 15, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Edward transitioned to heaven on December 21, 2020 in Washington D.C.
Edward graduated from Amityville High School in Amityville, New York. At an early age he professed his love and devotion to Jesus Christ and later in life pursued studies in Ministry and was ordained, Pastor, at Victory Gospel Tabernacle.
Edward served in the United States Army for four years and nine months, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1973. After discharging from the military, he began a career with the Postal Service and retired August 2019 after 33 years of employment.
He was preceded in death by his brother Leo Reid and sister, Sheila Reid.
Throughout his life he experienced many loving relationships and leaves seven children to cherish his memory; Tania Holsey-Lewis, Edward ( Mustafa) Charles Holsey, Jr., Shante Bell, Nia Holsey, Whitney Holsey, Matthew Holsey and Raven Holsey; his legacy also leaves 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, his loving siblings; Khalim Piankhi, Francine Seaman, Arthur Seaman, Gary Williams, Yvonne Reid, Yvette Reid, Stephanie Reid, Charles Reid, Tammy Reid and Kimberly Reid. Edward was loved and respected by a host of family and friends.
Edward's family would like to thank you for condolences and words of endearment. As we all know, this has been a very trying time and the family thank you for taking the time out to celebrate the life of their father, brother, uncle and friend.
His Viewing will be, 10:00 am until time of Service, 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
Interment, 1:00 pm, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623.
