February 24, 1934 – March 30, 2018
Edward John Bransome, 84, of Pomonkey, MD, passed away after a brief illness peacefully in his home, on Friday, March 30, 2018.
Edward was born in Chaptico, MD, February 24, 1934 to the late John Alfred Bransome and Elizabeth Cecilia Lock Bransome. He was preceded in death by his sister Cecilia Davis and his brother James Kenneth Bransome.
Edward was educated in the Charles County public school system and graduated from Pomonkey High School. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. He worked in construction for Labor Union 170 as a member for over 40 years. He was a member of Pomonkey High School Alumni Association, United Methodist Church Men Association, and an avid mall walker.
After retirement Edward enjoyed spending time with family and friends engaging in backyard barbeques and family get together holiday and birthday dinners/celebrations. He made frequent visitations to the sick and shut ins either at their homes, hospitals or rehabilitation centers and nursing homes. He taught his daughters culinary and home-brew techniques. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and was affectionately known to many as "Fast Rabbit". He was a Dallas Cowboy fan and always enjoyed watching golf only when Tiger Woods was playing.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Joan Francine Ward Bransome; his children Jeffrey (Maxine), Victor, Perry, Janice McKinney, Jasmine Price (Michael), and Jill; sister Margaret Connelly; brothers-in-law Gerald Datcher (Mildred), James Ward (Davella); grandchildren Jevar, Monique, Carlos, Sheritia, Keith, Michael, Parris, Pierre, Janiece, Preston, and Kyle; and one Great-Granddaughter Brooke.
On Friday, March 30, 2018 Edward John Bransome entered into eternal rest. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Ward Bransome, Children; Janice McKinney, Jasmine Price, Jill, Jeffery, Victor, Perry Bransome, sister; Margaret Connelley, sister-in-law; Gloria Jefferson, brothers-in-law, James Ward (Davella); Gerald Datcher (Mildred) other relatives and friends.
Viewing 9:00am until time of funeral services 11:00am, Monday, April 9, at Metropolitan United Methodist Church, 3385 Metropolitan Church Road, Indian Head, MD Interment Church Cemetery.
