Edna Deloris (Rabb) Johnson, 87 of Bladensburg, Maryland.

Edna Deloris Johnson was born Edna Deloris Nelson on August 7, 1930, in Washington, D.C. to the late Ordealus Nelson and Eva Wood. Edna united in marriage to the late Calvin Johnson, Sr. on March 1, 1949.  From this union, Calvin and Edna raised six daughters and two sons: Bernadette, Carlotta, Gloria, Belinda, Calvina, Calvin, Jr., Lymond (deceased) and Toya. Edna was a devoted military wife and mother who traveled with her husband until his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force on December 14, 1960. Realizing she needed to have a right relationship with God, Edna accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She joined Salem Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. (with the late Pastor Travis) and frequently brought her children to the worship services.

Edna loved playing Bingo on Friday nights with her friends while residing at ParkView in Bladensburg, MD; often, she won weekly prizes. Edna enjoyed traveling, shopping, crocheting and dining at various restaurants. She really loved going on cruises every chance she got with her family and friends. Edna and her family members traveled by train, sea, bus and airplane on numerous occasions. Recently, Edna returned from a trip to visit her sister-in-law (Bettye Johnson) in Detroit,Michigan.

Edna worked as a LPN at Veterans Hospital for over 30 years as an extremely dedicated employee. She received numerous awards for her hard work and commitment to excellence.

On Friday, July 13, 2018 at her home in Bladensburg, Maryland, Edna Deloris Johnson transitioned to eternal life.

Edna leaves six daughters and one son to cherish her memories: Bernedette Johnson (Tony) of Landover, MD; Carlotta Rembert (James) of Sumter, S.C.; Gloria King (Lewis) of Washington, D.C.; Belinda Johnson of Brandon, FL; Calvina Page (Thurman) of Clinton, MD; Calvin Johnson, Jr.,  (Kathryn) of Indian Head, MD; Toya  Johnson of Washington, D.C. She also leaves the kind, loving friends at ParkView in Bladensburg, MD, as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
