Eddie Lee St. Louis, 71, of Lehigh, Florida

Mrs. Eddie Lee St. Louis, age 71, of Lehigh Acres, Florida departed from us Monday, October 11, 2021. She was born Thursday, September 7, 1950, in Cora, West Virginia. Eddie was the eldest of three children (Edward [late], Carol) born to Anne and Eddie Edward Alexander. Eddie attended Logan County public schools in West Virginia. She went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of West Virginia. Eventually, Eddie embraced a career in the insurance industry. After 35 years of working in various specialties of insurance that included commercial and personal lines as well as auto insurance, she retired. Upon retirement, she shifted her focus to being a fulltime servant for Christ.

Eddie accepted Christ as her savior and was filled with the Holy Spirit since her twenties. She attended Bible study and church services regularly and had a love for reading and studying the Bible. It was nothing for her to spend hours reading the Bible or books pertaining to spiritual growth and understanding. Eddie enjoyed sharing what she learned about God's Word with her children or anyone who shared her passion for the gospel. During her retirement, she enjoyed traveling across the Caribbean sharing the gospel with her husband, John St. Louis, who preceded her in death. They often participated in outreach ministries and provided Bibles to children and those in need. It was their love of Christ that brought them together, and their love for one another that made every day even more special.

Eddie was passionate about learning her family heritage through genealogy. She traced the Alexander family lineage back to the late 1600's. Eddie became one of the Alexander family's primary genealogists helping to educate, unite, and extend knowledge of our family heritage. Her research led to the discovery of several extended family offshoots. Eddie was an avid herbalist. She often gravitated to the use of plants and minerals to heal ailments of the body. She was known for providing an herbal remedy for whatever sickness you experienced.

Eddie was a devoted mother of six (6); Grandmother to ten (10); and Aunt to five (5). She enjoyed spending time with her family and was proud of all of them.

Her Viewing will be, 10:00 am, until time of Service, 11:00 am, Thursday, November 4, 2021, in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.  Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, 13472 Poplar Hill Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
