Eartha Judith (Barnes) Taylor (Age 61) of Indian Head, Maryland.
Obituary
In the early morning of September 24, 2016, at her home, in Indian Head, Md. quietly, with her beloved Son Eric, by her side, and her family, Eartha Judith Barnes Taylor, (61) surrendered herself to our almighty God in Heaven, giving up this earthy life to move on to the highest of high...above the sky, to be welcomed home by God Himself and all of her loved ones, that she had been yearning for over the years as past. She was born to the late Mary Madeline Barnes and Woodrow Edward Lawrence on March 21st, 1955 in Pisgah, Md.
Eartha was educated in the Charles County School System. Throughout her years at Lackey High School, she became a "Cheerleader with one of her closest friends, Romaine "Rudy" Dyson-Washington. Eartha graduated in the early 1970s and started taking care and nurturing her, one and only Son, Eric Lamont Barnes...(Her Beloved). She was employed numerous places of employment during her lifetime of achievements, goals and accomplishments and she definitely had very good work ethnics. Eartha has worked at a post office, She obtained her certificate for a CNA and began working at Meridian Nursing Home/Facility, at a cleaners where she was entitled a seamstress, at Apperson's Carry-Out, also located in Indian Head, Md., where she could walk, ride a bike or just catch a ride for work. Whatever her preference was on that particular day. She's also worked as building manager at an apartment complex for custodial purposes and last, but not least, she was employed with The Naval Ordnance Station, located in Indian Head, Md. also. She was a very dedicated "Explosive Worker" on the base and she was recognized for her achievements and was given awards.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Reginald S. "Pete" Taylor on September 5, 1981. Where they were united as a family, with her Beloved Son, Eric and Pete's Beloved Son, Spencer.
Eartha loved to "LAUGH!" She loved to smile and she would engage you in a conversation with her, for hours! Besides that fact, in which, she loved to work as already mentioned, Eartha enjoyed when family got together, to have a party, have cook-outs, family reunions, or just sit around and enjoy herself and every once in awhile, she would get up to dance. She could really get her feet, legs and them hands goin' on the floor too! She loved and enjoyed partying. Just to have good time. Eartha loved to travel by, cars, buses and planes. She loved to travel. Eartha could dress...like it wasn't nobody's business. She had an eye for fashion. Even when it came to her fancy clothes, she had the fancy cars to match. She really loved her Mercedes Benz. Eartha loved everybody, especially her family and when she really wasn't feelin you, she'd let you know. She never bit her tongue on most occasions. It's an old saying:...that, a person would give you their shirt off their back! And guess what...she did! She always wanted to make sure that everybody else was ok, she never worried about herself. One of her other passions in life, was cooking. Eartha could really put something on that, fried chicken and those smothered pork chops and let's not forget about the shrimp. She was always willing to feed somebody. As soon as you would walk in the door at her house, she'd ask you..."Are you thirsty...Are you hungry?" She loved to be the hostess. As far as her nieces and nephews go, when the children were younger, all of them wanted to stay at Aunt Eartha's house, especially the little girls. they knew that they could tell their Aunt Eartha it was snowing outside and it would be 100 degrees and she'd believe them all. They knew that as long as they stayed, their Auntie would fatten them right up! Feed them all night and day, fill them with fruits, snacks, drinks, chips, ice cream and etc...And this didn't include the, breakfast, lunch and dinner! Eartha didn't mind trying to keep an eye on the kids at bedtime and she even tried to lay down with the girls, to laugh and joke at first before going, night, night, as planned, but Christian and Shaye would eventually end up, kicking her out the bed because they slept so dangerous! Eartha would just get up and brush it off, wake up the next day to call her niece and anyone she could possibly think about, to tell them what fun the girls had that prior night and just laugh it off. Eartha had a loving and caring soul. She would help you in any shape or form. She has yearned for her mother, Mary, brother Morris, sister Evelyn and the love of her life, her husband, Pete whom she often called M I S T E R (PERIOD). Now that God Himself, has lifted her from bondage and He's now welcoming her, into the Kingdom Of Heaven, she has looked upon their faces again, in Glory! Now, they are all reunited again. Eartha's most valuable and loving gift, that God could ever have given to her, is her Beloved Son, Eric, whom she loved 'til the end of time. Not only was he her son, but he was her best friend and one of her inspirations to continue in life, to be with him, through every trial and tribulation and life's ups and downs and made a vow to him, that she'd never, ever leave him, but her time was up when God called her home Saturday. He was her absolute everything! And she was an absolute everything to him too! Eartha touched each and everyone of us in all different ways and we'll keep her within' our hearts, our thoughts, within' our minds, forever and always.
Eartha had a loving heart, that over flowed with the joy she had when there was an opportunity for her to be around her family. She enjoyed walking everyday over to her sister, Ruth's house with Eric, once they moved back to Indian Head. She was always on the go. She never kept still! She wants all of y'all to know, that she loved each of us individually and she had a special personal bond with each of us as well. To us, she was the "Greatest Auntie Eartha" ever!. To her niece Tessa, she was the Sister, that she never had. Following Auntie Eartha, everywhere she moved and wherever you seen one, you would see the other and people started to call Eartha...Tessa and call Tessa Eartha. It was fine with them both, either way. Almost every niece, nephew and her Greats, have spent the night at Aunt Eartha's and Uncle Pete's house, where the food and fun was! I know for a fact, that she spoiled all the children, every chance she had.
Eartha loved God...Amen. She was baptised in the holy spirit of God at a very young age, went to CCD classes and made her Confirmation at St Mary Star Of The Sea Church in Indian Head, Md. where she was still a parishioner, before her health began to decline. She loved the Lord and we found Bibles, scriptures, quotes and her writing to God personally, herself, Saturday afternoon.
