IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Cecelia
Watson
July 15, 1936 – February 1, 2025
On July 15, 1936, in Dentsville, Maryland. Dorothy Cecelia Watson was the third child of nine born to Richard Jerome Watson and Mary Elizabeth Hicks Watson. She was raised in the Catholic Church. Dorothy was educated in the Charles County Public School System. One of her chores growing up was to milk the cow. Dorothy preferred the outside activities on the family farm. She worked to plant, irrigate, cut, hang and strip tobacco. She enjoyed putting together puzzles. Dorothy was a passionate Dallas Cowboy fan. She enjoyed partaking in the many family crab feast, and you better not lose any of her knockers. She enjoyed her trips to Florida to visit her nephew Mike. Dorothy also enjoyed attending Gospel Concerts. Although she did not have any children of her own, Dorothy interacted with her many nieces and nephews. She had a knack for remembering birthdates and ages of her many relatives. She had a reputation for saying what was on her mind. She was often a real prankster.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Jerome "Romie" Watson; mother, Mary "Lillie" Elizabeth (Hicks) Watson; her brothers, Richard Jerome Watson, Jr., Arthur Gardiner Watson, and John Oscar Watson; and her sister, Lillian Viola (Watson) Bush. She is survived by her sister, Gertrude Ann (Watson) Sharps; her brothers, James Walback Watson, James Andrew Watson, Jr. (Ursula), and Victor Watson (Bettie); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will celebrate her memory.
