Lee, Dorothy A. (Age 78) of Cheltenham, Maryland

Dorothy Ann Lee also known as "Dot," daughter of the late Harry Latane Lee, Sr. & Elsie Lee, departed her life peacefully December 30, 2019 at Bradford Oaks in Clinton, MD.

Dorothy was born January 21, 1941 in Essex County, VA. She attended school in Essex County and received her diploma from Essex County High School in 1959. After graduation she moved to Washington, DC where she started her career with the Department of Education. She held the positions of Personnel Specialist and Contracts Specialist. Dorothy retired from Department of Education in 2004.

Dorothy loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She was such a loving person who loved to be a blessing to others. She was a constant giver. Giver of love, herself and time. She loved to sew and make her African dolls. More than anything she loved to spend time with her family, hosting family get-togethers and just being present in the company of her family. Dorothy loved the Lord with all her heart and it showed throughout her way of living. She was a member of Cornerstone Peaceful Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Adult Ministry (SAME), Single Ministry and a former member of the Culinary Ministry. She will be remembered by her infectious smile, her kind words, thoughtful ways and her ability to love.

Dot is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Elsie Lee, four brothers: Robert Myers, Arthur Myers, Richard Lee and Harry Lee, two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Myers and Eula Myers.

Dot is survived by her son, Jeffrey Lee; two brothers, James Myers and Roger Lee; three sisters, Elsie (Leon), Fannie Lee and Ruth Norman; two sisters-in law, Sherry Lee and Nancy Myers; three devoted nieces, Traci Lee, Wendy Myers and Yolonda Lee; her best friend, Mary Royster and a host of nieces and nephews.

Her viewing will be held from 9:30am until time of service 11:00am, Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640.  Interment Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
