Dorothy C. Adams was born July 13, 1931 in Eldridge, West Virginia to the late Bishop Posey Diamond and Ersie Rumley Smith.

She received her education in McDowell County school system.  At an early age she was baptized and received the Holy Ghost at Little Rock Church, under the leadership of her father, Bishop Posey Diamond Smith.

She was married to the late Robert Leon Crisp and from this union God blessed them with two children, Darnellia and Gerald.  She followed her husband to Washington, DC establishing a home and graduating from trade school in embroidering which lead to employment with The Guild Company. She was highly sought after by the Washington Red Skins, various churches and church choirs.  From football jerseys, to choir robs, to anniversary banners, she did it all.  After the passing of her late husband, she remarried Roosevelt Adams of Washington DC.  Furthering her career, she became employed at the Greater South East Hospital upon retirement.

Keeping with her faith she joined the Holy Temple Church of Christ, under the leadership of the late Bishop Joseph Weathers. During her tenure at Holy Temple she was instrumental with the design and embroidering of the choir robes.  She was also a member of the Amalgamated Choir.

After a long illness the Lord called her to Glory on January 21, 2018.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, and four brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Penny Jenkins, Serina (Reggie) Nance, son, Gerald Crisp, one brother, Bishop George (Edna) Smith NY, two sisters Easter Mae Witcher, WV, Lerah Palmer, MD.  A very special niece, Dian Robinson, NY.  Three grandchildren, Five great grandson's, one great granddaughter, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Her viewing will be held from 9:00am until time of service 10:30am on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Way of the Cross Church of Christ, 1800 Hazelwood Drive, Capitol Heights, Maryland 20743.
