Obituary

Doris Virginia Maddox was born on October 25, 1964. She departed this life on July 25, 2011 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Doris was educated in the Charles County Public Schools. Her joy was her family. She loved babysitting, playing cards and listening to oldies but goodies. She tried not to let her illness bring her down and she always found the strength to get up early with a smile on her face, put on Betty Wright and enjoy the day. She loved having her family around her, especially her grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mariah Aaliyah Fasthorse, stepfather, Daniel Carter, brothers, Mark Anthony Taylor and Donald Bridget Maddox.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory four children, James Dorsey (Dalores), Jessica Dorsey (Ronald), Joseph Dunnington (Molaye) and Jomekia Dunnington; six grandchildren, Tyrelle, Samiyah, and Kamari Dunnington; Keith and Kevin Whaley and Isaiah Fasthorse; her mother, Dorothy Carter and father, Earl Maddox; two brothers, Rickey Maddox and Paul Maddox (Sharon); two sisters, Gloria Maddox (Charlie McDaniel) and Regina Cunningham. She is also survived by special friends, Tobey Lee, Brenda Ford, Vivian Dorsey, Mary Frances Jackson and a host of other relatives and friends.
