Doris Alene (Cooper) Fountaine, 63 of Oxon Hill, Maryland.
On Friday December 8, 2017 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC, Doris "Dot" Alene (Cooper) Fountaine transitioned to eternal life.
Doris was born in McConchie, Maryland on April 2, 1954 to the late James Henry Cooper and the late Mary Regina Dunmore Harrison. She was raised and educated in Charles County, Maryland.
Doris was employed with various custodial companies throughout her career in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia. She was last employed with Didlake, Inc. working at the Pentagon as the Project Manager. She then retired from Didlake after her initial diagnosis with Breast Cancer in 2010 and 2012.
Doris was an outgoing person, who loved socializing with family and friends. You could always count on her to get the "party started". She loved to have get togethers' and welcomed all into her house with open arms and she would always say "you walked in as a guest and I will serve you once but after that your family so help yourself."
Doris raised her two daughters, Christina Riley-Moultrie who preceded her in death and Kimily Kenner as a single mother. She met and married her husband, Warren M. Fountaine on 09/11/2010 and helped raise his son, Manaseh Phillips.
In addition to her parents and eldest child, Doris was preceded in death by her brothers, James E. Cooper, Calvin I. Cooper, Sr., Joseph S. Harrison, William Harrison, Cecil Brown, Melvin Brown and Francis Barnes; sisters, Alice Hamilton, Bertha S. Gamble, Mary Proctor, Lucille Lyles and Veronica L. Lewis.
Left to cherish many loving memories are her husband, Warren, daughter, Kimily (Richard Wills), son, Manaseh and Fur-baby Tonka; grandchildren, Timothy D. Clarit (Lauren Albo), Kiera R. Ford, Syerra A. Hill, London and Paris Phillips and grand-puppy, Mocha. Her best friend of 30+ years, Karen R. Ford and she was especially close to her niece, Joyce Proctor Wolfe (Dwayne). Doris is also survived by her sisters, Agnes Theresa Keys (John) and Gloria Riley (Leroy); four brothers, George Cooper (Shirley), Charles Cooper (Adriana), William Brown (Denise) and John Barnes; sisters-in-law, Barbara Cooper, Judy Harrison Samuel and Valarie Fountaine General (Tyrone); brothers-in-law; Darnell Fountaine (Janice) and Antonio Johnson (Erica). Doris has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers she was extremely close to, who will cherish the many talks, laughs and special memories.
Viewing, 10:00am until time of service, 12 noon, Monday, December 18, 2017 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland. Interment, St. Catherine's Catholic Church Cemetery, Mc Conchie, Maryland.
